We are now looking for a Linux System Administrator.  Will be maintaining and supporting critical business Linux systems throughout the Teledyne  Chartworld  environment globally.  There also an exciting opportunity to be part of the wider Teledyne Enterprise IT team.

LOCATION: Hamburg / Germany

TYPE: Full-time

YOUR PROFILE :

  • Completed Vocational Training IT (Computer Science (bachelor’s or master’s degree) or similar education or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Linux system administration.
  • Experience with operating systems expertise (Linux and Windows), such as installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, triage, and hardening
  • Experience Unix/Linux Shell scripting, Bash, Perl, Python or other languages
  • Experience with cloud providers
  • Experience with High Availability and data replication clusters on Linux
  • Experience administering/implementing Configuration Management
  • Preferably Apache2 / nginx knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team with initiative
  • Analytical thinking, planned work and enjoyment of challenges
  • Good English skills in speech and writing

YOUR TASKS:

  • Maintain and configure Linux server environment
  • Install and update operating systems and software packages
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support for Linux servers
  • Develop and implement automation scripts using Bash, Python or other scripting languages
  • Setup, configure and update Web server
  • Server administration (setup, update and configure Linux and Webserver)
  • Network Administration (Routing, Switches, DMZ, VPN, VLAN)
  • Virtual Machines (e.g. VMWare or Proxmox)
  • Ensure system compliance and security, by analyzing enterprise level audit data and collaborate with other technical resources to provide recommendations and effect sol
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, patching and maintenance of Linux servers, storage and back-up systems in our secured data centers
  • Write automation scripts in various languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)
  • Administer, design, and deploy container and OSS virtualization technologies
  • Support Linux desktop and laptop users
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth system integration and implementation
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Linux server administration
