CIO+ Environmental database now includes Areas to Be Avoided (ATBAs), established by IMO to protect the environment. According to the IMO routeing guide, in order to avoid the risk of oil pollution and severe damage to the environment, ships of certain specified sizes, carrying dangerous cargo, should avoid such areas. Â ATBAs are now available for subscribers of the CIO+ Environmental Data Service, in MyFleet and in eGlobe ECDIS.
The inclusion of the ATBAs into the CIO+ will further contribute to ChartWorld’s data services. The services are intended to make the sea voyage with ChartWorld more navigationally safe, efficient, compliant, and green.
