From the bridge to global support desks, Gregor Nordling brings frontline experience to ChartWorld’s customer success strategy.
For Gregor Nordling, helping people solve problems isn’t just part of the job, it’s the most rewarding part. As Global Head of Customer Support at ChartWorld, he leads a 24/7 international team spanning Singapore, Hamburg, Cyprus, and Vancouver, all dedicated to keeping vessels moving safely and efficiently.
From Deckhand to Digital Support
Gregor’s maritime journey began on container ships, but his experience stretches far beyond the bridge. “During university, I worked as a linesman and port worker,” he recalls. “Later, I served as a nautical officer on offshore wind parks.” That hands-on exposure to life at sea gives him a unique perspective on the pressures and priorities of commercial shipping.
“Understanding what it’s like onboard helps me train our team to better support our customers,” he explains. “We know how critical time is, and how digital navigation should never be a source of stress.”
Tools That Deliver What Matters
ChartWorld’s chart handling tools are designed to give crews exactly what they need for each voyage. As a distributor for ENCs (Electronic Navigational Charts), the company ensures that commercial vessels receive accurate, timely data to navigate safely.
“In shipping, there’s no room for delay,” Gregor says. “Our goal is to respond quickly and relieve seafarers from any digital navigation issues. We know our products are just one part of their workload and we want that part to be seamless.”
Training That Raises the Bar
Gregor is especially proud of the training and metrics his team has implemented. “We’ve built systems to analyse cases, identify patterns, and apply the right techniques. It’s helped us respond faster and with better quality.”
That commitment to continuous improvement is what sets ChartWorld’s support apart. Whether it’s a routine update or a critical issue, Gregor’s team is ready to help, because they’ve been there, and they understand what’s at stake.
